Project Overview :
Tongfu Road is a major transportation artery in Tong’an District, Xiamen, covering key residential and commercial areas and playing a significant role in regional traffic management and urban development. The underground utility layout along this road is highly complexed, encompassing various infrastructures such as water supply and drainage, electricity, gas, and telecommunications. The utilities are densely packed with diverse routing, numerous intersections, and connection points, posing significant challenges for maintenance and renovation. This makes Tongfu Road a typical case study for City Information Modeling (CIM) applications in urban infrastructure management.
Project Details:
Bimodeling conducts comprehensive detection of existing underground utilities using 3D ground-penetrating radar (GPR) technology combined with manhole verification. This process captures information such as pipeline alignment, burial depth, and attributes, generating a detailed 3D data model of the underground network. Meanwhile, UAV-based oblique photogrammetry rapidly builds a 3D reality model of the surrounding terrain, accurately reflecting current topography. The final deliverables include an up-to-date 3D model and topographic maps integrating both surface and subsurface utility data.
